Training Academy Work Project

Rescue 13 personnel preparing concrete for removal
This past week Rescue Company 13 worked to remove the concrete slab roof from the old fire maze for preperation for a new second story to be added. Raker shores were added to the rear wall to support the removal of the concrete slabs.
A-group worked setting up mechanical advantages to lower the 3 foot by 20 foot slabs to the ground.
Using tech rescue skills to move concret slab

Full slab removed
Once the slabs were lowered to the ground they created a system to move them 15 feet to the removal area. This allowed the company to use their technical rescue skills to complete this task. This in house project not only allowed the Rescue Company to save money in the removal of the roof but also to use their technical knowledge as a training evolution.
