CHFD Handles Crash in Kingston

At just 8:30 AM, Firefighters and EMTs responded to a reported motor vehicle accident at Tampa & Edgemoor Avenues, in the Kingston neighborhood. Crews on location reported two vehicles collided at an intersection with a 20 passenger bus overturned on it's side. Additionally, the accident sheared off a utility pole, bringing live "primary" wires and a transformer down in this quiet neighborhood. Crews secured both vehicles, freed the driver of the bus and transported her to a local hospital. CHFD's Hazardous Materials team was dispatched as a precaution to check into the possibility of vehicle fluids entering the storm drain system. Cherry Hill Police stood by until Public Service arrived to replace the pole and restore utilities. They are also investigating the cause of the crash. Pictures by T. McGovern.
