CHFD Responds To Transformer Fire

On Tuesday June 26, 2007 , firefighters responded to the report of a transformer fire in the 200 block of Provincetown Road. An electrical transformer was burning on top of a pole with exposure to the primary 240 volt line. Crews temporarily evacuated the residents on either side of the pole until PSEG crews were able to cut the power and fire was extinguished. Some residents were out of power for an unknown amount of time until PSEG could replace the transformer. No injuries were reported.
